Gospel Reading
On the evening of that first day of the week,
when the doors were locked, where the disciples were,
for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood in their midst
and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.

Our sojourner group recently spent a weekend in reflection on Francis’ celebration of the Incarnation – of God coming to earth in the form of Man. We learned that Francis considered Christmas “The Feast of all Feasts” because it meant that the divine is here on Mt. I had shared with the group that my youngest daughter Brigid inquired when Lent began if we could read the daily gospel together.
As you can imagine I was very moved that she had asked to do that. WhileMt. Irenaeushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03711631869207859581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9142167355178321165.post-74667053895775514192008-02-05T22:07:00.000-05:002008-02-05T22:14:07.501-05:00Lenten Reflection

Lent has been an intense spiritual experience for followers of Christ throughout the centuries. Our forty days of Lent are modeled after the forty days Jesus spent in the desert immediately after His baptism in the Jordan River. At the end of that time, Jesus was tempted by the devil. Those temptations which Jesus experienced and rejected had to do with POWER, PRESTIGE,Mt. A venerable old pastor began his sermon in University Presbyterian Church with a marvelous anecdote of his recent discovery. It was a sign that had been tacked to the rusty screen door of a back street bar in Piedras Negras, Mexico. That sign Mt.
